SF Sketchers 7th Anniversary Party and 10x10 Class Launch - FREE
SF Sketchers will be 7 years old! We're having a birthday party at Arch Art Supplies, with a sketching meetup beforehand to document some of the crazy new buildings and construction in this rapidly changing neighborhood. We'll also be announcing the 2019 Urban Sketchers 10x10 class series and introducing some of the people who will be teaching classes and organizing groups over the next year in our wonderful Bay Area sketching community. This 3.5-hour workshop is in conjunction with the recent publication of Maybelle's book- The Gift of Calligraphy: A Modern Approach to Hand Lettering with 25 Projects to Give and to Keep. The workshop will allow you to experiment with different tools and colors that she talks about in the Experimenting with Colors and Materials chapter. Please don't worry if you don't have any experience with calligraphy. This class is designed for the complete beginner, as well as for those who have some practice underway. The idea is less about creating perfect calligraphy and more about experimenting. There will be a demonstration on creating letterforms using an assortment of a different nibs and brushes.
